VSL in Delft is the knowledge organisation in the area of measuring and calibration in the Netherlands. Correct and reliable measurement is our core business. At VSL, new measurement technology is developed and applied for solving measurement challenges in industry. As national metrology institute of the Netherlands we make the results of measurements of companies, laboratories and institutions directly traceable to international standards. VSL manages and develops the national measurement standards for the Dutch government and makes a significant contribution to the reliability, quality and innovation of products and processes in industry and society.

Most of our people have a university background and have affinity with natural sciences and technology. VSL increasingly works in the area of consultancy and advice. This requires a proactive and customer-oriented mentality. In addition, almost all of our work is carried out by people working as a team.
